Gary has been in the asbestos industry for 25 years, from aged 18 in 1994. Starting as a £2 per hour Lab Technician to now making his own impact in the industry.
“We either accept the industry as it is, or work every day to make it what it should be” – this is his philosophy.
In 2010, he formed Omega with a burning ambition to live & work to his values and simply be uniquely better – to create the most attractive place for talented people to show up, and likewise attract those clients and suppliers who share his philosophy and remember why we do what we do – to save lives, to provide safe working environments.
Creating a culture based on habitual excellence, working with pride and attention to detail is key. As is building deep relationships within the team and with our clients and community.
Change starts with one person and we should all try it.
Gary has frequently spoken alongside UKAS and the HSE. His personal journey over the last 10yrs has also seen him on stage talking about mental health and addictions.
Omega, and making a positive impact, is his passion or 4th child as his wife says. Away from his Omega family, he lives with his wife and 3 children in Durham, and he has a passion for good coffee, music, the gym, playing guitar, his personal development and helping others.
